Anand ( Gujarati : અાણંદ; Hindi : आणंद) is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat .

The city forms the administrative center of the district of the same name founded on October 2, 1997 . Previously, Anand was in the Kheda district . The city of Anand lies between the two megacities Ahmedabad (65 km northwest) and Vadodara (35 km southeast). The city of Nadiad is about 20 km northwest of Anand. The NE 1 expressway (Ahmedabad – Vadodara) passes Anand. The city is also on the railway line that connects these cities.

The city has the status of a municipality ( Nagar Palika ). It is divided into 14 wards . At the 2011 census, Anand had almost 200,000 inhabitants.
