Anandyn Amar

Anandyn Amar ( Mongolian Анандын Амар ; also Agdanbuugiyn Amar ; * 1886 in Sum Changal; † around July 27, 1941 , probably in Moscow ) was a politician in the Mongolian People's Republic .

Amar was President of the Mongolian People's Republic from July 2, 1934 to March 22, 1936, and Prime Minister from February 21, 1928 to April 27, 1930 and from March 22, 1936 to March 7, 1939.

In the course of the Stalinist purges in Mongolia , Chorloogiin Choibalsan placed him under counterrevolutionary activities at the congress of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MRVP) on March 7, 1939 . Amar was then removed from office and expelled from the MRVP. In July of the same year he was exiled to Siberia . Two years later, on July 10, 1941, the highest Soviet court sentenced him to death for espionage for the Japanese ; the exact place and time of his execution are not known.

On January 25, 1962, Amar was rehabilitated and his membership in the MRVP was posthumously restored.
