Individual evidence

  1. Ilja Ehrenburg reports on Wladimir (1863-1934) in his memoir Menschen - Jahre - Leben (special edition Munich 1965, part I, pages 504-512). The Russian writer worked for some time with the animal trainer and clown in the field of children's theater. There is also a nice anecdote from the Wilhelmine city of Berlin in Spiegel from February 4, 1959. Then Durow called a pig, which he had fitted a helmet, Wil during a guest appearance . When the pimple hood threatened to fall off the restless animal, Durow gesticulated to draw attention to the danger. He called out: "Wil - Helm! Wil - Helm!". The number brought Durow the expulsion from the empire. See here , accessed April 9, 2011
