Anchallani (also: Anchacallani) is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location and surroundings

Anchallani is the central place of the canton Anchallani and most populous place in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Luribay in the province Loayza . The village of Aucapata is located at an altitude of 4187  m in a high valley 10 kilometers southwest of the Río Luribay and 20 kilometers from Luribay , the central place of the municipality.

Anchallani is located in the Serranía de Sicasica cordillera , between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands in the east. From La Paz, the paved road Ruta 1 leads 104 kilometers south to Patacamaya . From there, six kilometers further south, a dirt road branches off to the northeast to Luribay , which reaches Anchallani after 50 kilometers .
