André Adam (diplomat)

André Adam (born September 10, 1936 in Brussels ; † March 22, 2016 there ) was a Belgian diplomat .

Life

André Adam married Danielle Adam-David. From 1986 to 1990 Adam was ambassador in Algiers . From 1992 to 1995 he was Head of the Politics Department in the Belgian Foreign Ministry.

As ambassador to Kinshasa , he spoke to Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya about Mobutu Sese Seko in March 1991 and sent his assessments in a letter to Brussels. From 2000 to 2003 he was Permanent Representative of Belgium to the United Nations in New York.

Adam was killed in the terrorist attacks in Brussels on March 22, 2016 .
