Life

Barth completed an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for railway operations with a high school diploma from 1986 to 1989 and then worked at Dresden Central Station. Until 2010 he was a member of the SPD . In 2014 he moved into the Saxon state parliament via the state list (4th place) of the AfD Saxony . There he became the parliamentary director of his group and a member of the budget and finance committee and the evaluation committee. As a representative of his parliamentary group, he became a member of the board of trustees of the state center for political education . He is also part of the district board in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district , for which he also sits in the district council. In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , he will run as a direct candidate for Dippoldiswalde.

Since he had not notified the state parliament of the loss of his license to practice as a lawyer in May 2015, as required by law, the state parliament presidium imposed a fine of 1,000 euros on the Free State of Saxony at the end of January 2016. In addition, the bar is examining allegations that Barth publicly appeared as a lawyer even after losing his license.

Barth is divorced, has one child and lives in Dippoldiswalde .

Political positions

Barth advocates the "development of a new national consciousness" and "orderly immigration and asylum regulations, immigration only when required".

After AfD chairwoman Frauke Petry left the party shortly after the 2017 federal election , in which she won the direct mandate in Barth's district, he expressed the disappointment of the members for the district association and criticized Petry's sudden decision. He and the district association are still behind the federal and state party.
