André Gautier

André Gautier (born August 26, 1924 in Les Eaux-Vives , † November 27, 2000 in Geneva , resident in Geneva) was a Swiss politician ( LPS ).

biography

After his doctorate in 1954, he worked as a specialist FMH for paediatrics from 1959 . He opened a practice, then became an attending physician at the University Clinic for Pediatrics and, in 1967, finally a private lecturer at the medical faculty.

In 1969 Gautier ran on the Liberal List for the Grand Council of the Canton of Geneva without having been politically active beforehand. After his surprising election, he was a member of the Grand Council until 1977 and was always involved in politics. In the National Council elections of 1971 he was elected to the first substitute place and took his seat in the National Council after the death of Raymond Deonna . Until November 29, 1987, he had a seat on the National Council and was in office 1983/84 National President . On November 30, 1987, he was elected to the Council of States and worked there until November 24, 1991.

In the Swiss Army , Gautier was a lieutenant colonel in the medical forces .
