Raymond Deonna

Raymond Deonna (born October 13, 1910 in Plainpalais , † September 10, 1972 in Allaman , resident in Geneva ) was a Swiss politician ( LPS ).

Life

Deonna studied law and political science and was director of the Bureau romand from 1943 to 1957. From 1957 to 1970 he was General Director of the Society for the Promotion of the Swiss Economy.

In 1936 Deonna was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Geneva , and in 1958 he was its president. He had a seat in the cantonal parliament until 1965. From 1948 to 1951 and from 1963 until his death he was a member of the National Council. As President of LPS Geneva from 1943 to 1945, 1949 and 1960, he was later also President of LPS Switzerland from 1946 to 1950.

From 1950 to 1972 he sat on the board of directors of the Journal de Genève , from 1962 to 1965 of the Cercle de la presse et des amitiés étrangeres and 1969 to 1972 the Geneva International Motor Show .
