René Helg

René Helg (born January 5, 1917 in Le Petit-Saconnex , † June 30, 1989 in Lausanne , resident in Delémont and Geneva ) was a Swiss politician ( LPS ).

biography

After studying law , Helg obtained his doctorate in 1939. From then on he worked as a lawyer and in 1951 opened his own law firm. He later worked as a judge of the peace, then as an examining magistrate , later as a judge at the court of first instance and ultimately as president of the police court.

In 1957 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Geneva without ever having sat on the Grand Council . He held his mandate until 1965. From 1951 to 1955 he was President of LPS Switzerland. Between 1957 and 1986 he was president of the Compagnie genevoise des tramways électriques .

In the Swiss Army he was an artillery officer and later a military judge.
