Gilbert Coutau

Gilbert Coutau (born March 11, 1936 , resident in Geneva ) is a Swiss politician ( LPS ).

Life

Coutau studied law at the University of Geneva and graduated successfully in 1959. He then worked for the Society for the Promotion of the Swiss Economy and has been an independent consultant for business and communication issues since 1991. He also presided over the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1996 to 2002. From 1997 to 2003 he was on the Board of Directors of Swiss Life .

On November 26, 1979 he was elected to the National Council. There he was active in the commission on the federal stamp duty law. On November 25, 1991, he was elected to the Council of States , where he was elected on December 3, 1995.

From 1985 to 1989 he was President of the Liberal Party of Switzerland .
