Blaise Clerc

Blaise Clerc (born May 8, 1911 in Neuchâtel ; † April 26, 2001 there , entitled to reside in Neuchâtel and Fleurier ) was a Swiss politician ( LPS ).

biography

After studying law at the University of Neuchâtel, he was licensed in 1933, became a notary in 1934 and obtained the diploma of the Institut des hautes études internationales in Paris in 1935 . From 1936 he worked in his family's notarial office.

Clerc was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Neuchâtel in 1953 and presided over the tax appeals committee from 1957 to 1969. He was elected to the Council of States in 1963 and left the Grand Council two years later (1965). In 1971 he resigned from the Council of States. In 1977 he became President of LPS Switzerland and held this office until 1981.

Clerc was also President of the Swiss Watch Chamber in La Chaux-de-Fonds and from 1967 to 1977 President of the Employers' Convention of the Swiss Watch Industry.
