François Jeanneret

François Jeanneret (born October 10, 1932 in La Chaux-de-Fonds , resident in Le Locle ) is a Swiss politician ( LPS ).

biography

After attending schools in La Chaux-de-Fonds , Jeanneret began studying law in Neuchâtel . He received his licentiate in 1957 and admitted to the bar in 1959 . He practiced as a lawyer in La Chaux-de-Fonds from 1959 to 1969.

In 1961 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Neuchâtel , and in 1969 he succeeded in moving to the State Council , where he headed the Department of Military and Education. From 1979 to 1991 he was in the National Council , from 1987 to 1991 he was President of the Liberal Group of the Federal Assembly. Two years after leaving the National Council, he became President of LPS Switzerland in 1993 and headed it until 1997.

Jeanneret was also a member of the Belles-Lettres Academic Society from 1952 to 1957 .
