André Sana

André Sana (born December 20, 1920 in Araden , Iraq ; † May 8, 2013 ) was an Iraqi Chaldean Catholic Archbishop of Kirkuk .

Life

André Sana was ordained a priest on May 15, 1945 . Pope Pius XII appointed him Bishop of Aqra on June 20, 1957 . The Patriarch of Babylon , Joseph VII. Ghanima , donated him episcopal ordination on October 6, 1957 ; Co - consecrators were Souleyman Sayegh , auxiliary bishop in Mosul , and Gabriel Ganni , auxiliary bishop in Beirut . André Sana was the council father of all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . 1966/67 he was also Bishop of Amadiyah .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Kirkuk on December 14, 1977 . On September 27, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
