André Sardet (* 8. January 1976 in Coimbra ) is a Portuguese Pop - singer .

Life

As a teenager he played in a youth band, but left it after a short time to compose and play his own songs. In 1996 his first album was released, the single O Azul do Céu (English: The blue of the sky) achieved some popularity and the top 10 of the Portuguese sales charts. He appeared more often on television, and his following albums achieved ever higher sales figures, in particular his autobiographical album André Sardet , on which Rui Veloso , Luís Represas and Mafalda Veiga appeared as musical guests .

In 2006 his album Acústico was released . Recorded live at the Teatro Académico Gil Vicente , characterized by the acoustic, undistorted instrumentation and the intimate atmosphere, the album was number one on the sales charts for twelve weeks, where it was held for over a year.

Sardet continued to tour in Portugal and now filled larger halls. In his ECO TOUR 2008 , he reduced the energy consumption of his concerts by a third and appealed to the public's environmental awareness . In addition, his album Mundo de Cartão (German: world made of cardboard) was produced in 2008 as a European premiere in the plastic-free and environmentally friendly packaged Bend it green format by Sony DADC . After the carefree Mundo de Cartão , dealing with childhood , reached second place in the charts, its successor Pare, Escute, Olhe (English: hold, hear, see) reached the top of the charts in 2011. His title was also the name of the highly acclaimed, committed documentary ( Pare, Escute, Olhe ) by the Portuguese director Jorge Pelicano , who in 2011 dealt with the environmentally and socially problematic closure of the local railway line Linha do Tua in favor of a dam project. Sardet, on the other hand, chose the title to describe the creation of the album, which he described as a creative reorientation.

Sardet wrote the music for the 2001 Globo de Ouro television series Uma Aventura , on the Portuguese television channel SIC , in which he also had a small guest role. As a result, he also wrote the music for several other telenovelas , especially for Nicolau Breyner's NBP production company , such as the successful Ilha dos Amores for TVI 2007.
