Andrea Barth-March (* 23. January 1972 in Esslingen as Andrea Barth ) was 1980-1996 Kunstradfahrerin in the discipline One-art cycling. During her active time at RSV Wendlingen , she achieved a number of successes.
Career
Andrea Barth began her sporting career at the age of eight with RSV Wendlingen.
As a 19-year-old, she became German champion in art cycling in Trier in 1991. After three runner-up world championships in a row, she became the first world champion in single art cycling in 1994 in the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken.
Barth was able to win the gold medal in 1995 and 1996 as well.
In 1996 the 24-year-old Andrea Barth declared her withdrawal from competitive sport after her third world championship title.
The attempt to pursue a career as a licensed trainer at RSV Wendlingen did not succeed.
The offer to accept a lucrative contract as a circus driver with the Canadian entertainment company Cirque du Soleil had already turned down in 1990.
During her career as an art cyclist, Barth trained as an administrative clerk in the Wendling town hall and then worked for health insurance companies in Kircheim. In 2004 she took half a year off and then began a three-year training course as a state-approved sports teacher and sports therapist. From 2008 she then worked as a physical education teacher at a secondary school in Rosenheim.
Private
She has been married since 2011, the couple has two children and the family lives in Bruckmühl in the Rosenheim district .
