Heike Marklein

Heike Marklein (born November 2, 1967 in Offenbach am Main ) is a former art cyclist in the discipline of single art cycling. During her active time at RC Adler Dietesheim , she achieved a number of successes. Afterwards she was also able to record successes as a trainer.

Career

Marklein started cycling at the age of five, her mother was a trainer. In 1981 she won the first national championship title among the students. In 1984 the youth title followed after she had become the European junior champion for the first time the year before. Also in 1984 she prevailed at the Junior European Championships, in 1985 she came second in this competition. Further titles at national and international level followed.

After her time as an active athlete, she was a junior national trainer at the Association of German Cyclists from 1993 to 2005 . In 2013 she trained the world champion Corinna Hein and led her to gold at the 2013 indoor cycling world championships .
