Andrea Kern

Andrea Kern (* 1968 in Heilbronn ) is a German philosopher .

Life

She studied philosophy , German , film studies and theater studies at the Free University of Berlin , the University of Paris and the Ruhr University Bochum . In 1998 she was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. 1997–1999 she was a research assistant at the Universiteit van Amsterdam . She was a guest at the University of Pittsburgh (1998/99) and the University of Chicago (2003/04). From 1999 to 2006 she was a research assistant at the University of Potsdam , where she in 2004 habilitated . From 2007–2009 she was professor for cultural philosophy at the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg . Since 2009 she has been teaching and researching at the Institute for the History of Philosophy at the University of Leipzig . Her research interests are epistemology , philosophy of perception, skepticism , philosophical anthropology and aesthetics . She spent the academic year 2014/15 as a fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin . For years she has devoted herself to German idealism .
