Andrea Notaris (born May 29, 1986 in Cambiasca ) is an Italian grass skier . He starts for the Sci Club Gozzano and has been a member of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) since 2006 .

Career

Notaris achieved first successes at the Junior World Championships 2003 in Goldingen , where he reached fifth place in slalom and sixth place in combination. A year later, at the 2004 Junior World Championships in Rettenbach, sixth place in the giant slalom was his best result. At the end of July 2004, Notaris also took part in his first World Cup race in Forni di Sopra . He finished 16th in the giant slalom and 22nd in the Super-G, which put him in 33rd place overall. In the 2005 season , his best World Cup result was 26th in the giant slalom in Forni di Sopra. In the overall standings, he fell back to 40th place. At the Junior World Championship in 2005 he could not repeat the results of previous years and he did not make it into the top ten in any competition. The next year he was able to improve significantly again at the Junior World Championship in 2006 . With fourth places in the slalom and in the combination, he narrowly missed the medal ranks twice. His best World Cup result in the 2006 season was eleventh place in the slalom of Sattel , which made him 27th overall.

The Italian achieved his best result so far in the overall World Cup in the 2007 season . With tenth place in the slalom of Sattel and a total of eight placements among the top 25, he finished 14th in the overall ranking. In September 2007 Notaris took part in the World Cup in Olešnice v Orlických horách , Czech Republic . He was rated in all four competitions and achieved 20th place in the super combination as the best result. Notaris achieved two top 10 placements and two more results among the top 15 in the 2008 World Cup season , but in the overall standings he fell back to 23rd place. Notaris achieved similar results in the 2009 season . He was twice in the top ten, with his sixth place in the giant slalom in Marbachegg, his best World Cup result so far, and another two times in the top 15, placing him 25th in the overall ranking. At the 2009 World Championships in Rettenbach, he was among the top 20 in three of four competitions. Only in the Super Combined was he disqualified after a goal error in the slalom run. In the 2010 season, Notaris was once again among the top ten in two World Cup races and, like two years ago, was 23rd in the overall World Cup. In the following year he started only in two World Cup races and only achieved a result as tenth in the Super-G in Marbachegg. Also in the 2012 season , Notaris took part in FIS races only in two World Cup races in San Sicario . He finished 13th in both the giant slalom and the super-G, and 32nd in the overall World Cup.
