With the club he was promoted to the Regionalliga Südwest in the 2012/13 league season . After the 2013/14 season Backmann moved to the upper division Borussia Neunkirchen . Since the 2015/16 season he has been playing for FC Speyer 09 in the Southwest Football Association .

In addition to playing in Speyer, he has also been the coach of FC Olympia Kirrlach since 2016/17 , with whom he was promoted to the Nordbaden Association League in 2017. Before that, he was also a coach at VfR Kronau, TuS Mingolsheim and assistant coach at FC Speyer 09.
