Andreas Hartmann (violinist)

Andreas Hartmann (* 1960 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German violinist . He is the first concertmaster of the MDR symphony orchestra and honorary professor at the HfM Weimar .

Life

Andreas Hartmann attended the music school and special school for music in Halle . From 1977 to 1982 he studied violin with Jost Witter at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar . After graduating, he was an aspirant there for two years .

In 1984 he became first concertmaster at the Great Radio Orchestra Leipzig (today: MDR Symphony Orchestra). He was u. a. Participant in the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition (1980) in Leipzig and in the International Tchaikovsky Competition (1982) in Moscow. Hartmann has given more than 200 concerts in Europe, Asia and the USA.

He produced for radio and television and recorded several CDs as a soloist .

Andreas Hartmann plays a Guarneri violin from 1744 .
