Andreas Laschet (born July 8, 1955 in Essen ) is a German mechanical engineer , technical consultant, engineering service provider and author .

Life

After obtaining the university entrance qualification at the former grammar school in Essen-Stadtwald , Andreas Laschet studied from 1974 to 1980 [mechanical engineering] at the RWTH Aachen . The doctorate took place in 1988 at the Institute for Machine Elements and Machine Design (IME, RWTH Aachen University) on the topic of developing a method for the computer-aided simulation of torsional vibrations in drive systems . This work was funded by the German National Academic Foundation and published as a book under the title Simulation of Drive Systems by Springer-Verlag .

After working as a department head for computational system analysis and software engineering at MEC GmbH in Eschweiler , Andreas Laschet joined the family company ARLA Maschinentechnik GmbH in Wipperfürth in 1990 . Since 2017 he has been working in his own company Laschet Consulting in the TechnologiePark Bergisch Gladbach with the technical focus: machine dynamics (in mechanical engineering , plant construction , vehicle construction , shipbuilding ) and simulation , especially in drive technology for the purpose of optimizing the dynamic behavior of complete drive systems and drive trains .

In addition to his scientific work in the field of dynamics in vehicle drive trains including NVH optimization (see here), Andreas Laschet also chaired the specialist events system analysis in vehicle drive technology organized by Haus der Technik (Essen) in the years 2001-2015 on; 8 conference volumes have been published by Expert Verlag .
