Flybondi (also flybondi or flybondi.com) is an Argentine low-cost airline based in Buenos Aires . The first flight took place on January 26, 2018 from Córdoba to Puerto Iguazú .

history

Flybondi was founded in 2016 by Julian Cook and the entrepreneur Gastón Parisier. This happened mainly against the background of an announcement by the Argentine government that it would open up previously state-regulated air traffic to new providers.

The first aircraft in the Flybondi colors, a leased Boeing 737-800 , was unveiled to the public on December 5, 2017. By April 2018, the fleet is to be supplemented by three more Boeing 737s and will include ten aircraft by the end of 2018.

For its base at the El Palomar military airport near Buenos Aires , the company received an operating license for a period of 15 years and will invest 30 million US dollars in the infrastructure there. Among other things, Flybondi is planning to build its own terminal. In addition, the airport is to have a train connection.

The airline says it wants to have a fleet of 28 aircraft by 2021 and transport 8 million passengers a year.

Destinations

The airline is initially offering routes to Bariloche and Puerto Iguazú from its second hub in Córdoba and from Mendoza .

Flybondi now also offers flights from the El Palomar military airport . They fly to a total of 13 national destinations and, with Punta del Este, an airport in the neighboring country of Uruguay .

fleet

As of March 2020, the Flybondi fleet consists of two aircraft with an average age of 18.6 years:
