Andreas Mitter

Andreas Mitter (born November 28, 1981 ) is an Austrian ski jumping trainer .

Career

Mitter, who comes from Styria , studied at the University of Innsbruck and completed his studies with a trainer diploma. He began his coaching career at SC Garmisch-Partenkirchen . From 2011 to 2012 he trained the C-team in the Austrian Ski Association . In 2012 he took over the B-team in the ski jumping Continental Cup , which he trained until 2016. In March 2016, before the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , he took over the post of head coach in the Finnish Ski Association from his predecessor Jani Klinga , who had headed the national ski jumping team there since 2014. He became the first foreign head coach for the Finns, but ended this activity two years later after a dispute with the association. On April 9, 2019, the DSV announced that Mitter would be assistant coach of the German perspective squad at the side of Christian Winkler for the 2019/20 season .

Andreas Mitter is one of three sons of Wolfgang Mitter , who was the head of organization of the Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau am Dachstein in 1999 and who now works as the Russian Federation. His brother Mark is assistant trainer in the team around ski racer Marcel Hirscher , Christian is the alpine boss of the Norwegian Ski Association.
