Andreas Oberleitner (musician)

Andreas Oberleitner (born September 17, 1786 in Angern an der March , † February 18, 1838 in Vienna ) was an Austrian musician ( mandolin , guitar ), composer and civil servant.

He was the older brother of the orientalist Andreas Oberleitner .

Life

Oberleitner was born as the son of the administrator at Angern Castle , received music lessons and is said to have come to Vienna in 1804 to study surgery. In 1815 he got a job at the court, when he died he was “ k. k. Court silver and table inspector ”. In 1817 he married - the ceremony was performed by his brother. He died in 1838, but his death was not included in secondary literature.

Musically he was considered a virtuoso of the mandolin and violin, he gave lessons and published several compositions.
