Andreas Schwabl (born October 6, 1986 ) is an Austrian biathlete .

Andreas Schwabl lives in Leogang and works as an electrician. He is trained by Reinhard Gösweiner and starts for SC Leogang . He started biathlon in 1999 and has been a member of his country's national team since 2004. He competed in his first international races since 2004 in the Junior European Cup. The first Junior World Championship he ran in 2005 in Kontiolahti . There was a 20th place in the individual best result. A year later he ran at the Junior World Championships in Presque Isle and was 34th in the singles and ninth with the relay. Schwabl took part in his third Junior World Championship in 2007 in Martell . In the relay race he just missed a medal in fourth place, in the pursuit race he was 26. In that year he also competed at the Junior World Championship in Bansko and achieved an 18th place in the sprint as the best result. In 2007 he achieved two results among the best teeth in the Junior European Cup.

In the men's race, Schwabl began to compete in the 2007/08 season in the Biathlon European Cup . The first race was an individual in Obertilliach , in which he was 40th. In 2008 he won points for the first time in Langdorf as the 25th of an individual. The Austrian achieved his first top ten result in 2008 as sixth in a sprint in Cesana San Sicario . The 2009 European Biathlon Championships in Ufa were his first major senior event. In the individual, he finished ninth, in the relay race he was the starting runner and reached fifth place together with Julian Eberhard , Sven Grossegger and Tobias Eberhard .

Schwabl is married to Iris Waldhuber .
