Andreas Schwarz (* 3. March 1965 in Berleburg ) is a German politician of the SPD and since 2013 member of the German Bundestag .

Life

Schwarz grew up in Strullendorf near Bamberg. He attended secondary school in Hirschaid and, after secondary school, the technical college in Bamberg . He studied business administration at the Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences and received his diploma in 1985. In 1992 he founded a shipping company for toys in Strullendorf.

In 1990, Schwarz entered the Strullendorf municipal council for the SPD , and was defeated by the CSU candidate in the mayoral election. In 1996 he defeated the mayor Bruno Weiß of the CSU, who has been in office since 1972, with 65.29% of the votes in the runoff election, in 2002 he was re-elected with 69.97% and in 2008 with 71.43%. In 2002 he was also elected to the district council of the Bamberg district, where he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in 2013. Schwarz has been chairman of the SPD in the Bamberg district since 2008, and in January 2020 he was also elected chairman of the SPD sub-district of Bamberg-Forchheim.

In 2009 he applied for the first time for the Bundestag mandate in the constituency of Bamberg for the SPD , but was defeated by Thomas Silberhorn from the CSU, where he achieved a respectable success with 20.4% of the first votes. In the 2013 and 2017 elections , he again had to surrender to Silberhorn with 22.9% (2013) and 20.4% (2017), but entered the Bundestag via the SPD's state list. He is a member of the Budget Committee and the Audit Committee. He was a member of the finance committee of the 17th German Bundestag, where he was his parliamentary group's rapporteur for sales tax, tax crime, rating agencies and consumption taxes.

Schwarz is applying for the office of District Administrator for the Bamberg district in the local elections in March 2020 . First he prevailed in an "innovative process" in a public election against three inner-party competitors, at the delegates' conference on May 27, 2019, he was the only candidate to receive 98.3% of the votes.

Schwarz is Evangelical Lutheran, married and has one daughter.
