Andreas Sponsel (born March 3, 1986 in Forchheim ) is a German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Sponsel began his career at TSV Graefenberg and 1. FC Nürnberg . There he came on October 22, 2006 for the first time with the second team in the Bayern League. In the following season he came on 16 missions, where he was promoted to the regional league. There he played nine times in the 2008/09 season . He was always number two behind Alexander Stephan . On October 17, 2008, he sat for the first time on the bench of the first team in the second Bundesliga, because both Daniel Klewer and Alexander Stephan had failed. He had previously been used in test matches with the professionals.

In 2009 Sponsel moved to third division club FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . There he had to take a seat on the bench behind Dirk Orlishausen from Sömmerda . He made his debut in the 3rd division on October 31, 2009 in a game against VfL Osnabrück . After he left Orlishausen for Karlsruher SC , he got number one, but at the beginning of the 2011/12 season, Marcus Rickert played . From the 13th matchday onwards, Andreas took his place between the posts. He came to 26 missions and reached fifth place in the table with Erfurt.

For the 2013/14 season Sponsel moved to SpVgg Oberfranken Bayreuth in the Bayern League . With Bayreuth he was sovereign champion and was promoted to the Regionalliga Bayern in 2014 . Since the 2016/17 season, Sponsel has been the goalkeeper and captain of 1. SC Feucht in the Northeast Regional League.
