Marcus Jason Rickert (born February 18, 1984 in Rostock ) is a German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Marcus Rickert started in the youth department at Hansa Rostock . During this time the DFB became aware of him. In 2001 he took part in the U-16 European Championship in England with the German U-16 team, but remained substitute goalkeeper behind René Adler during the course of the tournament .

In the club he played up to U-19 and was then taken over by Hansa in the amateur team. In the second half of the 2005/06 season he rose to number one in the team. He then moved to Kickers Emden in the Regionalliga Nord , where he was the goalkeeper in his second year.

In the summer of 2008, Rickert made an attempt in the 2nd Bundesliga at TuS Koblenz . There he made his professional debut on the 31st match day of the 2008/09 season against SC Freiburg. In two years he could not prevail and after relegation Rickert was informed that the TuS Koblenz no longer planned with him.

In mid-May 2010, Sportfreunde Lotte announced Rickert's commitment in the Regionalliga West. Although he was brought in as number one, he was not used and was retired again during the winter break. He joined the regional league club SV Wilhelmshaven on January 31, 2011 and took over the place in goal for the rest of the season.

For the 2011/12 season Rickert moved to the 3rd division to Rot-Weiß Erfurt . On the first twelve match days he was between the posts, then he was replaced by the nominal number one Andreas Sponsel and used in the rest of the season in the league team. In January 2013 Rickert terminated his contract with RWE, which was actually running until the end of the season.

Less than a week later, he signed a contract with league rivals VfL Osnabrück until the end of the 2012/13 season . At VfL, he saw a red card in his first league game . In the following years he lost his place in goal to Manuel Riemann .

For the 2013/14 season Rickert moved to FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin in the Regionalliga Nordost. After a year and a half, he left the club during the winter break and joined VSG Altglienicke in January 2015 . With the club he rose in the 2015/16 season as a champion of the Berlin League in the league. His contract with Altglienicke ended in mid-2018.
