Career

In his youth, Riemann played for TSV Ampfing and TSV 1860 Rosenheim and moved to Wacker Burghausen in 2003 . Here he moved up to the squad of the second team before the 2006/07 season. On the last day of the season he made his second Bundesliga debut against SC Paderborn 07 . In the 5-1 win, he missed a penalty in the 80th minute. After the club's relegation in the summer of 2007, Riemann became a regular goalkeeper in the Regionalliga Süd . On August 6, 2007 he saved two penalties in the DFB-Pokal game against FC Bayern Munich and converted a penalty against Oliver Kahn himself . Nevertheless, the game was lost 4-5 on penalties.

After three years he moved to the 2010/11 season for second division promoted VfL Osnabrück , where he signed a two-year contract. Here he was initially a substitute goalkeeper behind Tino Berbig for one season . When the club was relegated to the third division at the end , Berbig left the club and Riemann became the new regular goalkeeper. He made his first game on July 23, 2011 away against SV Darmstadt 98 (1-0). In May 2013 Osnabrück failed in the relegation to Dynamo Dresden , so they stayed in the third division. At the beginning of July 2013, Riemann moved to SV Sandhausen to play in the 2nd Bundesliga under a two-year contract .

In the 2015 summer break, Riemann tied himself to VfL Bochum until 2018 . In August 2016, his contract was prematurely extended to 2020.
