Thomas Eisfeld (born January 18, 1993 in Finsterwalde ) is a German football player . The offensive midfielder is under contract with the second division VfL Bochum .

Beginnings

Thomas Eisfeld began his career at SV Quitt Ankum . He later played for VfL Osnabrück before joining Borussia Dortmund 's youth teams . On October 3, 2009, the right-footer made his debut under coach Peter Hyballa against SG Wattenscheid 09 in the A-Junioren-Bundesliga (Season West). At the end of 2009 he tore his cruciate ligament in a tournament match against a youth team from FC Schalke 04 . After recovering from injury, he scored eight goals in 19 games in the 2010/11 season and six goals in twelve games in the first half of the 2011/12 season for Borussia 's youth club .

Arsenal FC

At the end of the transition period in the 2011/12 winter break, the ice rink, supervised by player agent Reza Fazeli, moved from Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal . According to media reports, the transfer fee was in the range of around 500,000 euros ( £ 420,000) to 800,000 euros. His contract with Borussia Dortmund would have expired in the summer of 2012 anyway.

On February 1, 2012 Eisfeld played his first appearance for the Arsenal reserve team in the Premier Reserve League (Southern Division). He succeeded in making a first assist.

Eisfeld made his competitive debut for the first team on October 30, 2012 in the cup match against Reading FC . He came on for Serge Gnabry in the 62nd minute . However, he did not manage to become an integral part of the professionals and played for the U21s.

Fulham FC

On July 23, 2014 Eisfeld's move for the 2014/15 season to the London second division club Fulham , coached by Felix Magath , was announced. There he signed a two-year contract with an option for another season. He made his debut in the Football League Championship on August 9, 2014 when he came on for Chris David in the 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town on Matchday 1 for the second half . By the beginning of February 2015, he played 13 competitive games and scored two goals.

VfL Bochum

On February 2, 2015, the second division club VfL Bochum announced that they had signed Eisfeld as part of a loan deal that was limited to June 30, 2015. After twelve appearances in the second division and one goal in the second half of the season, he initially returned to Fulham for the 2015/16 season, but was then permanently signed by Bochum in mid-August 2015.

National team

Eisfeld was a member of the German U-15 national team in 2008 , but did not play an international match that year. On March 5, 2014, he played for the German U-20 national team in a 3-2 win in a friendly against Switzerland .
