Armel Bella-Kotchap (born December 11, 2001 in Paris , France ) is a German - Cameroonian football player . The central defender is under contract with VfL Bochum and is a young German national player.

Career

society

Bella-Kotchap started playing soccer at Rot Weiss Ahlen at the age of four . Through various junior teams, including from Borussia Mönchengladbach and MSV Duisburg , he got into the “Talentwerk” of VfL Bochum in 2017 .

At the beginning of 2019, after taking part in the pre-season training camp in Weiler-Simmerberg , he was promoted to the professional squad by head coach Robin Dutt together with some teammates from the Bochum U19, right in his first game in the professional area (2: 3 at FC Erzgebirge Aue in April) the central defender played over 90 minutes. Bella-Kotchap had already signed a long-term professional contract in advance.

National team

Bella-Kotchap has been used five times for German youth national teams. As a dual citizen, he would also be eligible to play for Cameroonian national teams.

Private

Armel is the son of the former Cameroonian national player Cyrille Florent Bella , who himself played in Germany for eleven years. Through him he also holds the Cameroonian citizenship.
