Andrei Wassiljewitsch Mjagkow ( Russian Андрей Васильевич Мягков , scientific transliteration Andrej Vasil'evič Mjagkov ; born July 8, 1938 in Leningrad ) is a Russian actor.

Life

Myagkov graduated from the Leningrad Technical University with an engineering degree and then attended the Drama School of the Moscow Art Theater , where he graduated with the role of Uncle in Dostoyevsky's Dream of a Ridiculous Man . In 1965 he received an engagement at the Sovremennik Theater in Moscow. He played there, among other things, the baron in Gorkis Nachtasyl , the teacher Medvedenko in Chekhov's The Seagull and Kistochkin in the comedy Always to have ( Всегда в продаже, 1965) by Vasily Aksjonow .

After first working on television, he made his film debut in 1968 with the role of Aljoscha Karamazov in The Brothers Karamazov by Ivan Pyriev . Andrei Myagkov became known to the Soviet television audience through the television comedy Ironie des Fate (1975) by Eldar Ryazanov , in which he played alongside the Polish actress Barbara Brylska . For this role he received the State Prize of the USSR in 1977 . In 1979 he received the Vasilyev Prize and in 1986 the title of National Actor of the USSR. In Moscow he first played at the Gorky Theater and later at the Chekhov Theater . Ironija sudby has traditionally been broadcast on New Year's Eve every year since the 1970s on Soviet and now Russian state television. In 2007 director Timur Bekmambetow shot a sequel to the film, in which Myagkov also took part.
