Andrei Wladimirowitsch Nikitenko ( Russian Андрей Владимирович Никитенко ; born January 13, 1979 in Tyumen , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with HK Lada Tolyatti in the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Andrei Nikitenko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior division of Gasowik Tyumen , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Super League in the 1997/98 season . In the following season , the center rose with his team in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. However, he himself remained in the super league and played in the following three years for Ak Bars Kazan , with whom he was runner-up in 2000 and 2002 respectively. In his first year in Kazan he also came to two missions for the second division Neftjanik Leninogorsk .
From 2002 to 2004 Nikitenko was under contract with Severstal Tscherepowez , with whom he failed in the 2002/03 season as in the previous year with Kazan in the playoff final at Lokomotive Yaroslavl . The 2004/05 season he started with last year's runner-up HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , but left it after only twelve games and ran for the capital club HK CSKA Moscow in the following two and a half seasons . In the 2007/08 season , the junior world champion played for HK Sibir Novosibirsk . He then received a contract with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod from the newly formed Continental Hockey League , for which he was on the ice until 2012. In May 2012 he received a two-year contract from Sibir Novosibirsk.
During the Expansion Draft on June 17, 2013, Nikitenko was selected by Admiral Vladivostok .
In May 2014 he was signed by KHL returnees HK Lada Tolyatti for two years before ending his career in April 2016.
International
For Russia , Nikitenko took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 1999 , where he and his team became world champions. He contributed to this success with five assists in seven games.
