Andrei Chadanovich (2011)

Andrej Valerjewitsch Chadanowitsch ( Belarusian Андрэй Валер'евіч Хадановіч ; born February 13, 1973 in Minsk ) is a Belarusian poet and translator .

Life

Chadanovich completed a degree in philology at the Belarusian State University , where he has worked as a lecturer in French literature since 1997. In 2002 he made his debut with the poetry collection Lysty s-pid kowdry ( Ukrainian Листи з-під ковдри ), which was first published in a Ukrainian translation and only in 2004 in the Belarusian original. Since 2008 he has been president of the Belarusian PEN Club . He is a member of the jury for the Wisława Szymborska Prize .

He has translated works by WH Auden , Leonard Cohen , Emily Dickinson , John Donne , Edgar Allan Poe , Ezra Pound , Wallace Stevens , William Butler Yeats from English, and works by Guillaume Apollinaire , Charles Baudelaire , Stéphane Mallarmé , Gérard de Nerval from the French , Saint-John Perse , from the Polish works by Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński , Zbigniew Herbert , Bolesław Leśmian , Czesław Miłosz , from the Russian works by Gennadi Aigi and Olga Sedakowa and from the Ukrainian works by Jurij Andruchowytsch and Serhij Schadan .

He participated in music projects “ Tuzin. Perasagruzka ”in 2009,“ Budzma! Tuzin. Perasagruzka-2 ”in 2011.
