Andrew "Mac" McDermott (born January 26, 1966 - August 3, 2011 in England ) was a British rock singer. He was best known as a member of the British progressive metal band Threshold , with whom he recorded five studio albums from 1998 to 2007 and was also featured on several fan club CDs and live albums . Both his predecessor and successor as Threshold singer was Damian Wilson.

Early in his career he played with various bands in clubs in his home country, but moved to Germany in the early 1990s to join the band Sargant Fury . With this he recorded three albums and after their dissolution joined his compatriots Threshold . During his career he was also the singer of the German bands Galloglass , Yargos and PowerWorld. With PowerWorld he recorded the album Human Parasite in 2010 , but left the band in June 2011 due to "serious health problems". McDermott died on August 3, 2011 of kidney failure , most recently he was a member of the band SwampFreaks .
