Andrey Popoviç ( Ukrainian Андрій Володимирович Попович / Andrij Volodymyrowytsch Popowytsch ; born April 4, 1992 in Chop , Ukraine ) is an Azerbaijani football goalkeeper .
Career
society
Born in Ukraine, he began his career in his native country with FC Hoverla-Zakarpattya Uzhhorod . In spring 2007 he signed his first professional contract with Metalurh Donetsk . He stayed in Donetsk for two years , but did not play in the first team and therefore moved to Azerbaijan to FK Baku in the summer of 2009 . After he was only used in the reserve at Baku, he decided in autumn 2010 to move to Abşeron Futbol Klubu on loan . There he became a top performer, played in all 26 games and thus helped his team to rise to the Premyer Liqası . In June 2011 he returned to Baku, but decided to move to Sumqayıt PFK in July . There he came to eleven missions under the German coach Bernhard Raab .
For the 2013/14 season Popoviç moved to the second division TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor . Here he was not used due to the competition in the league, so he moved back to Sumqayıt PFK during the winter break.
National team
Popoviç was called up for the first time for the Azerbaijani national football team on October 5, 2011 and made his debut in the friendly against Albania on November 11, 2011. Before that, the goalkeeper had already played six games each for the U-17s and the U-19s of Azerbaijan an international match for the U-21 national team under Bernhard Lippert .
