Andrij Andrijowytsch Martynjuk ( Ukrainian Андрій Андрійович Мартинюк , international after English translation Andriy Martynyuk ; born  September 23, 1990 ) is a Ukrainian hammer thrower .

Career

Andrij Martynjuk took part in a more important international competition at the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic , which he finished first with a score of 76.09 m (5 kg hammer).

After Martynjuk was only able to position himself in ninth place a year later at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland, with 72.26 m (6 kg hammer), a throw of 79.54 m (6 kg hammer) helped him ) at the European Athletics Junior Championships 2009 in Novi Sad, Serbia, to win the gold medal.

In 2010 Martynjuk threw the hammer at the Winter Throwing European Cup in Arles , France, 70.54 m, which earned him second place, before he again made third on the podium at the Winter Throwing European Cup 2011 in the Bulgarian capital Sofia with 71.10 m came. Shortly thereafter, Martynjuk was seventh at the 2011 U23 European Athletics Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic, with 71.47 m.

At the 2012 Winter Throwing European Cup in Bar, Montenegro, he finished second with 71.37 m. Martynjuk was eliminated from the qualification at the subsequent European Athletics Championships in Helsinki with 71.69 m.

After winning the 2014 European Winter Throwing Cup in Leiria , Portugal (71.83 m) and the 2016 European Throwing Cup in Arad , Romania (69.77 m), Martynjuk missed out on the 2016 European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam , where 72.37 m put an end to his participation in the preliminary round. Martynjuk had been celebrated as Ukrainian champion in Lutsk three weeks earlier with 74.90 m .

In 2017 Martynjuk won another European Cup triumph at the European Litter Cup in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain - he won with 70.46 m.
