Andrija Jukic (born January 3, 1987 in Perth ) is an Australian football player of Croatian descent. The midfielder played as a professional with Perth Glory in the A-League and with Bogor Raya FC in the Indonesia Premier League .

Career

Like his older brother Luka, Jukic comes from the junior division of the Western Knights club, founded by Croatian immigrants. In 2004, at the age of 17, he moved up to the men's team with play in the Premier League of Western Australia . There he was used regularly in his first year, when in addition to the championship the Champion of Champions competition was won. At the end of the season he was named Rookie of the Year at state level and was named Most Improved Player within the team . In 2004 he was also part of the U-19 selection of the state of Western Australia , where teammates included Jeff Bright , David Micevski , Nick Ward and Nikita Rukavytsya , who all started their professional careers at Perth Glory .

After another season with the Knights, he spent 2006 abroad; probably at a football club in Croatia. For the 2007 season, the playmaker returned to the Western Knights and was selected for his season performance in the team of the season. For the 2008 season, Jukic moved to league rivals Perth SC . In March 2008, Jukic took part as a test player with the A-League club Perth Glory on a test game trip to China and was appointed to the selection of Western Australia in the same year as in 2007. With the selection team he won 3-2 against Perth Glory in a friendly game played annually between the two teams since 1998, Jukic contributed to the first victory of the state selection in these clashes.

For the newly created A-League National Youth League , he was accepted by young coach Gareth Naven for the 2008/09 season in the youth team of Perth Glory and acted as its captain. There was Jukic, who was earning his living as a commercial assistant in the mining industry up to this point, with six goals this season the top scorer of the team and at the end of the season also belonged to the squad of the professional team several times. His debut on December 15, 2008 against Wellington Phoenix was followed by three more appearances as a substitute until the end of the season. For the season 2009/10 Jukic was next to Scott Neville , Anthony Skorich , Howard Fondyke and Brent Griffiths one of five players from the youth team, which was equipped with a professional contract. During the season he was regularly used as a substitute when the team made it into the championship play-offs for the first time. After he was hardly used in the 2010/11 season , he was released early from his contract at the turn of the year to move to Bogor Raya FC in the newly created Indonesia Premier League .

His sister Katarina, born in 1989, plays in 2008 for the Perth Glory women's team in the W-League .
