Jeffrey "Jeff" Bright (born May 7, 1985 ) is an Australian football player . Mostly used on the left wing Bright spent most of his career in the Western Australia Premier League and came in 2008 to two appearances for Perth Glory in the A-League .

Career

Bright is from East Gippsland , but moved to Western Australia as a teenager and joined Cockburn City SC in 1999 . As one of the outstanding players of his class in Western Australia, he was a regular member of the national team from the U-15 age group; In 2001 he took part in the Lion City Cup in Singapore with the West Australian U-16 selection . After representing Western Australia at the National Talent Identification Championships , he took part in a two-week trial training session in November 2001 at the invitation of the English club Leicester City together with his two compatriots James Wesolowski and Adam van Dommele .

In 2002 he moved up to the first team of Cockburn City at the age of 16 and joined the club in the Western Australia Premier League , the top division of the state. His achievements there resulted in a trial training session at the top Dutch club Feyenoord Rotterdam in mid-2002 on the recommendation of Scout David Mitchell . Nominations for national teams also continued for the talent that can be used offensively and defensively on the left. In August 2002 he took part in the national tournament with the student selection, but missed the UK tour of the student national team as a player nominated on demand. In 2003 he finally established himself as a regular player and top performer at Cockburn and was appointed in October 2003 as the only player of the club in the state selection for games against Perth Glory and the Iraqi national team.

For the 2004 season Bright moved within the league to Fremantle City and reached with the club the association cup final in 2004, which was lost despite a goal by Bright with 1: 2 against Swan IC . In 2004 he was also part of the U-19 selection of the state of Western Australia , where teammates included Andrija Jukic , David Micevski , Nick Ward and Nikita Rukavytsya , all of whom started their professional careers at Perth Glory . After just one year at Fremantle, Bright moved to Perth SC , with whom he won the 2005 state championship and the cup competition with a 2-1 win against Inglewood United . The reward for a strong season performance was a renewed appointment to the national team, with which he completed a tour to Malaysia. After another year at Perth, he was awarded the 2007 season for professional reasons in Mandurah, 70 kilometers south of Perth, to Mandurah City FC in the second division. With the team, he finished the season in first place and helped the club to its first promotion to the Premier League.

Bright also played in the episode for Mandurah and placed with the club, which had started with the season goal relegation in the league, in the top half of the table. Again this year he was part of the selection team of Western Australia and was on the field in the historic 3-2 win against Perth Glory in June 2008, the first win for the selection team in the friendly game that has been held annually since 1998. Only a few months later he was brought by David Mitchell after the injury-related failure of Hayden Foxe to the A-League club Perth Glory . In order to be able to take advantage of the short-term contract with the professional club, he quit his job. Bright came to two missions during his six-week stay, but the two games against Queensland Roar (0: 3) and Melbourne Victory (0: 4) were clearly lost.

His goal of making the leap into the professional field in 2009 was thwarted by a serious knee injury in the pre-season season in early 2009. After his recovery in the middle of the year, he found it difficult to get back into the starting XI at Mandurah and finally fell out with the coach in June 2009. He then left the club and moved within the league to the relegation-threatened club Armadale SC , with whom he managed to avoid relegation . Still with the intention of making the leap into the professional A-League, Bright decided for the 2010 season to move to the more athletic Victorian Premier League to Dandenong Thunder . The attempt to get hold of a professional contract via Dandenong failed and Bright returned to Perth for personal reasons in July 2010 and joined Mandurah City again there. About a year later he left Mandurah temporarily for professional and private reasons and joined the lower-class club Rockingham City . From the 2012 season he was active again for Mandurah, at the end of the season he finished second in the election for Player of the Season. After several reports of injuries in the first half of 2013, he did not appear again until 2015 for Mandurah City.
