Aneta Regina Pastuszka-Konieczna (born May 11, 1978 in Krosno Odrzańskie , Lubusz Voivodeship ) is a Polish canoe racer and five-time participant in the Summer Olympics since 1996 - Atlanta 1996 , Sydney 2000 , Athens 2004 , Beijing 2008 , London 2012 . She starts for the Club Warta Poznań .

Her specialty is the 500 m course in a single kayak (K-1), two-person kayak (K-2) and four-person kayak (K-4).

In addition to the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, which she won over the 500 m distance together with Beata Mikołajczyk , she won two bronze medals over 500 meters at the Olympics with Beata Sokołowska-Kulesza in Sydney (2000) and Athens (2004) .

She is also a 17-time medalist at canoe racing world championships and 15-time medalist at European championships.

With the Polish team she just missed the podium with fourth places in her Olympic participation in the K-4 in Sydney 2000 , Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 .

Career

Aneta Konieczna first joined the Kanu Sport Club in Gorzów Wielkopolski , where she was trained by Piotr Głażewski . From 2001 to 2012 she was an athlete at KS Poznań until she moved to Warta Posen in April 2012 .

Before the 2012 London Olympics, she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery, which caused her to lose her place in the two-point team.

Honors

Aneta Konieczna received the Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland in gold on November 10, 2000 .

On October 7, 2004 she was honored with the Polish order Polonia Restituta in the knight class and on October 8, 2008 in the officer class.
