Angela Ganninger

Angela Ganninger (born June 19, 1965 in Königstein ) is a German diplomat . She has been Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova since September 2018 . Before that, she was head of department at the Federal President's Office in Berlin.

career

After graduating from high school in 1984, Ganninger began the preparatory service for the senior foreign service , which she completed in 1987. After working at the embassy in Nicosia , Ganninger studied economics from 1988 to 1995 at the Fernuniversität Hagen and in Konstanz . After completing her studies, she completed the preparatory service for the senior foreign service from 1996 to 1998 and then worked in the Foreign Office.

In 2000 she was posted to the embassy in Abidjan , Ivory Coast , where she stayed until 2002. After a short time at the embassy in Bamako ( Mali ), she was transferred to the embassy in Tel Aviv in 2002. In 2005 she came back to the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin and in 2008 went to the permanent representation to the EU in Brussels. From 2009 to 2011 she worked again in the Foreign Office before coming to the Athens Embassy in 2011. From 2012 to 2014 she was reassigned to the Permanent Mission to the EU and from 2014 to 2018 she was Head of Division in the Office of the Federal President.

In 2018, Ganninger was sent to Chisinau ( Republic of Moldova ) as an ambassador and received there on September 20, 2018 by President Igor Dodon to present her credentials
