Angela Hampel

Angela Hampel (born February 16, 1956 in Räckelwitz ) is a German painter , graphic artist and object artist .

Life

After an apprenticeship and work as a forestry worker and driver, Angela Hampel studied painting and graphics from 1977 to 1982 at the Dresden University of Fine Arts with Jutta Damme and Dietmar Büttner . Since 1982 she has been working freelance in Dresden . From 1984 she worked in Dresden and Berlin in the Wilfriede Maaß ceramic workshop . From 1987 she showed her first performances, installations and environments and published in the literary magazines Bizarre Cities and Sondeur . In 1989 she was one of the co-founders of the Dresden Secession 89 . In 1998, in a joint project with colleagues from Bonn, Hampel created the sculptures Undine comes and Undine goes , which are now on the Molenbrücke in Pieschen and on the banks of the Elbe in Johannstadt . She took part in numerous international competitions. She has been a passionate mountaineer since the 1990s.

Angela Hampel lives and works in Dresden.
