The magazine Sondeur - monthly boulevard for culture and politics , which saw twelve issues between April 1990 and March 1991, was the continuation of the non-official publication series Bizarre Cities (thirteen issues between 1987 and 1989) published in the GDR .

The publisher of both magazine projects was the Greek journalist and translator Asteris Koutoulas , who lived in the GDR and who founded the Sondeur in early 1990 together with Stefan Körbel, Jannis Zotos, Ina Kutulas and Marina Bertrand. A short time later, Thilo Köhler joined the group, who, together with Kutulas, shaped the content of the Sondeur. The decrease in the entire magazine circulation by the GDR postal newspaper sales guaranteed distribution in East Germany and led to relatively high sales figures (between 9,000 and 18,000 per month). After the PZV was dissolved at the beginning of 1991, the economic livelihood of the project was deprived of its publication, after 12 issues.

The main focus of the probe was literary and journalistic topics as well as interviews with various artists, such as B. John Cage , Robert Rauschenberg , Rainer Fetting , Angela Hampel and Trak Wendisch . Some booklets had key topics such as B. Travel, money or painting. Authors of the magazine include Matthias Biskupek , Peter Böthig , Peter Brasch , Heinz Czechowski , Adolf Endler , Elke Erb , Jan Faktor , Fritz Rudolf Fries , Claudia Gehrke , Robert Gernhardt , Alban Nicolai Herbst , Werner Heiduczek , Stefan Heym , Matthias Baader Holst , Horst Hussel , Sabine Kebir , Uwe Kolbe , Frank Lanzendörfer , Detlef Opitz , Thomas Rosenlöcher , Rainer Schedlinski , Lothar Trolle , Peter Wawerzinek and Yury Winterberg .
