Angela Maas
Angela Maas (born January 13, 1959 in Aachen ) is a German journalist and television presenter .
Life
After graduating from high school in Aachen, Angela Maas studied history and German at the University of Vienna , where she published her work The Jewish pogrom » Reichskristallnacht « November 1938 in the Spiegel »Großdeutscher« newspapers on Dr. phil. received his doctorate .
Maas has been working for television since 1984, initially at Austrian Broadcasting , where she helped develop the children's news program Mini-ZiB . In 1986 she returned to Germany, worked for 3sat as a program presenter and for WDR television in the newsroom of the current hour . In 1988 she took over the moderation of the news program west3 aktuell , in April 1996 she came to the local time in Cologne .
In the meantime, Maas moderated the FrauTV magazine on WDR television, as her predecessor Lisa Ortgies switched to Emma magazine as editor-in-chief . Angela Maas had previously represented Ortgies twice during her maternity leave as a presenter for frauTV . On August 26, 2011 Angela Maas presented the local time in Cologne for the last time and ended her 25-year career at WDR. In 2012, the separation of the WDR from Maas became the subject of a request from the CDU parliamentary group in the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament, which suspected a case of "youth madness".
Angela Maas has two children and was married to Frank Plasberg until 2007, with whom she has a daughter. She is the granddaughter of the former mayor of Aachen and co-founder of the Aachener Volkszeitung (now: Aachener Zeitung) Albert Maas and sister of the film director Georg Maas .
