Lisa Ortgies

Lisa Ortgies (born January 7, 1966 in Quakenbrück ) is a German television journalist and columnist .

Life

After a short time as an au pair in the USA and a few subsequent jobs, Ortgies first became a stewardess . She later began studying psychology and sociology , which she did not graduate. In addition to her studies, Ortgies worked for a Heidelberg daily newspaper. In 1994 she gave up her studies and instead trained as a journalist at the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg .

When in 1996 the planned pregnancy replacement of a presenter at the local broadcaster Hamburg 1 was canceled, Ortgies, who was working there as an intern at the time, was hired as a replacement. She was able to assert herself at her new job and hosted two news programs a day. Eventually Ortgies came to NDR , where she took over the cultural program Arena (now Kulturjournal ).

From 1997 on, Ortgies moderated the program frauTV on WDR , and was also a columnist for the feminist magazine Emma . In April 2008, editor-in-chief Alice Schwarzer gave up her position at Emma to Ortgies. Ortgies stopped working as a presenter for frauTV . At the end of June 2008 she left the magazine and from February 2009 she was moderating frauTV again , alternating with Sabine Heinrich from 2015 .

In 2017 she suffered a heart attack in New York .
