Angharad Davies

Angharad Davies (* around 1972) is a Welsh improvisation musician ( violin , electronics).

Live and act

Davies studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and then moved to Düsseldorf in the mid-1990s to study with Charles-André Linale. She has been making recordings with musicians from the British improvisation scene since the late 1990s; First recordings were made in 1999 with the Trio Cranc (album All Angels , with Rhodri Davies , harp and Nikos Veliotis , cello). In 2002 she moved to London, where she took lessons from Howard Davis. Since then she has played in various musical projects, including a. with Simon H. Fell , Eva-Maria Houben , Dominic Lash , Radu Malfatti , Johnny Chang , Jamie Drouin , Phil Durrant , Lee Patterson , John Tilbury , John Butcher , Magnus Granberg , Ernesto Rodrigues , Nikos Veliotis and Jürg Frey . In 2007 she recorded the album Endspace as a duo with Tisha Mukarji (prepared piano) ; In 2008 the AD production followed (with Axel Dörner ). In 2014 she released the solo album Six Studies (Confront). The discographer Tom Lord lists her participation in 31 recording sessions between 1999 and 2018, most recently with Dafydd Roberts ( Will Never Play These Songs Again ).
