Angus Charles Drogo Montagu, 12th Duke of Manchester , also 15th Earl of Manchester, 15th Viscount Mandeville and 15th Baron Montagu of Kimbolton (born October 9, 1938 in Kimbolton Castle , Huntingdonshire , † July 25, 2002 ) was an English Nobleman .

family

Manchester was born to Alexander Montagu, 10th Duke of Manchester and Nell Vere Stead. He was the younger brother of Sidney Montagu, 11th Duke of Manchester .

On November 22, 1961, he married Mary Eveleen McClure, daughter of Walter Gillespie McClure of Geelong, in the city of Geelong , Australia . The couple separated in 1965 and the marriage divorced in 1970. There were three children from this marriage:

In 1971, Lord Angus Montagu married Diane Pauline Plimsaul of Wimborne , Dorset , daughter of Arthur Plimsaul of Corfe Mullen . This marriage ended in divorce in 1985. His third marriage was in 1989 with Anne-Louise Taylor, daughter of Alfred Butler Taylor of Cawthorne , Yorkshire . This marriage ended in divorce in 1998. On April 22, 2000 he married the model Biba Hiller (1942) in the Swedish Church in Mayfair in London . This marriage ended in divorce in 2001. Biba, Duchess of Manchester died of cancer on October 11, 2003.

education and profession

After primary school in Wales , he attended Gordonstoun , a Scottish private school. This was followed by three years with the Royal Marines . He worked in the oil industry and in tourism, also as a clothes seller, barman and “fighters with crocodiles”.

Membership in the House of Lords

After his brother died childless in 1985, Angus Montagu inherited the title of Duke of Manchester and the associated seat in the House of Lords . After the House of Lords Act 1999 , he left Parliament.
