Aniceto Simões

Aniceto Simões ( Aniceto Silva Simões; born September 8, 1945 ) is a former Portuguese long-distance and obstacle runner .

At the World Cross Country Championships in 1973 in Waregem he came in 119th place, and at the European Athletics Championships in Rome in 1974 he was eliminated over 5000 m in the preliminary run.

In 1976 he finished 102nd at the Cross Country World Championships in Chepstow and was eighth over 5000 m at the Olympic Games in Montreal .

At the World Cross Country Championship he came in 1977 in Düsseldorf on 66th place and in 1978 in Glasgow on 45th place. In 1978 he failed at the European Championships in Prague over 5000 m in the run and did not reach the goal in the marathon .

He started three more times at the World Cross Country Championships with the following placements:

He was Portuguese champion three times each over 5000 m (1973, 1975, 1979) and 10,000 m (1972, 1973, 1976) and once each over 3000 m obstacle (1974) and in cross country (1975).
