Anicka Newell (born August 5, 1993 in Denton ) is a Canadian pole vaulter .
Athletic career
Anicka Newell gained her first international experience at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated from the qualification with 4.15 m . At the World Championships in London in 2017, she finished twelfth with 4.45 m in the final . The following year she finished seventh at the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast with 4.30 m. At the NACAC Championships in Toronto in August, she failed to cross the starting height.
In 2018 Newell became Canadian champion in pole vault. She graduated from Texas State University with a degree in exercise science .
