Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is one of Nintendo -developed free-to-play - mobile game from the Animal Crossing -Spielereihe that Nintendo for iOS and Android smartphones was developed and published. It was released in Australia on October 25, 2017. The game was released in Germany and other countries on November 22, 2017. The game continues the Animal Crossing game series , in which you get visits from animal residents - in earlier parts as a simple resident or mayor of a city, but in Pocket Camp as Head of a campsite .

Game action

In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp allows players habitats and communities of their character with the trade of materials and with the doing of tasks adapted for decorative items. The player decorates a campsite instead of a city and collects materials such as wood or cotton, which in turn can be used to make furniture. The player makes friends with animal characters who can be invited to inhabit the campsite. A player's character can travel to various places, such as an island, a bank where fish can be caught, or a marketplace where clothes and other furniture for the character can be purchased. The gender, face and hairstyle as well as the mobile home of the figure can be customized. Neighbors in nearby "recreation areas" reward the player with materials for completing tasks. A carpenter on his own campsite transforms these materials into furniture. By building the favorite furniture of his neighbors, the player can attract them. Each visitor increases the level of the player, with which new furniture is then unlocked. With the so-called “leaf receipts” you can accelerate the waiting time for certain actions or, in some cases, produce furniture without material. The player can receive the “leaf vouchers” with tasks in the game or by purchasing them from the respective app store . The developer is planning seasonally available furniture and events, such as B. Chairs, with which you unlock special characters.

development

In early 2016, Nintendo announced a mobile game in the Animal Crossing series of games. This series of games was selected because of its long range. The release was only planned for the same year, but was delayed due to the prioritized development of Super Mario Run . The next year, Nintendo experimented with microtransactions in Fire Emblem Heroes . On October 25, 2017, the Pocket Camp was published in Australia. In all other countries, the publication followed on November 22, 2017.

Suspension of the game in Belgium

On May 21, 2019, Nintendo announced that the service to download and play Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Fire Emblem Heroes would be discontinued in Belgium on August 27, 2019. The reason for the discontinuation of the games are new Belgian laws regarding loot boxes , such as Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp uses them in the form of the gacha system of fortune cookies. Nintendo will no longer publish games with similar payment systems in Belgium.
